Thumbs up 1993 Celsior ECU repair success.

Good morning everyone, just a quick post to send a huge thank you to Mike Beck (Soarer Surgeon on FB) in New Zealand who has repaired my 1993 Celsior ECU to perfection - and this after many failed attempts by other so-called technicians (names available on request by PM only).

Yes, he is far from the US but I highly recommend him. This is one guy that will not bull**** you.

Thanks Mike.

Hi Timmy, nice to hear from you. Bottom line - it started the car when the others wouldn't and ran it fine as well.

Yes, thanks for letting us know and putting his name out there. I love hearing the successful repair stories. It seems like this past month there's so many posts made about bad ECUs, including mine. But, too bad he is so far away from me. Your "so many failed attempts" quote is what scares me so much with so many people out there claiming to be the best. First hand experience is always good. Congrats on your fix.

Yep. Especially with these older and very rare ECUs. Not everybody can work on them successfully. In my case there is even an additional complication in that my car is a JDM Celsior which has different mappings than the LS400 which is sold in the States. So it's not all that easy to get someone with the knowledge and experience to fix 'em no matter what they say. For example there are only 2 (yes, two) ECU numbers that are fully compatible with that vehicle. You gotta be careful.
