On and off working 1992 lexus ls400 odometer
Hello. I have a 1992 Lexus LS400 where the odometer wasn't working for 6 months. Then it started working on its own again. Now...today I noticed it is not working again? Has anyone with this body style LS400 had the same issue? And if so...what ended up being the problem? A response would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

Hello,
If the speedometer is working, more likely than not, the issue is your cluster, those were known to fail back in the day. You can get another one at the junkyard, but there is no warranty that the issue won't come back, another way is to ship it out to get repaired, Tanin Auto Electronix is one of the companies that does such repairs.
Hope this helps and best of luck!

It's probably that the odometer gear is failing/has failed. If you search the forum or online, you'll find posts about it - some showing the broken gear in a photo.

Tanin offers a replacement gear:

They also have a service for it.
You will have to remove your cluster to inspect / send it for repair / diy.
Notes for DIY to remove the cluster:

Once the cluster is removed, you can take off the cover for the odometer, followed by the unit itself
