Default Air control valve 1999 ls400

Hey guys so my alternator went out a while back and I got the new denso alt ready to go but I need to tackle my leak first so I do t get that yucky ps fluid on the new alternator, I’m just making sure I’m right with some other of y’all’s opinions all this leak is due to the air control valve right? I supplied pictures so you can see for your selves! If what I’m thinking is right and that is the suspect of the leak does anyone have a good part number for me to grab the new one and get this back on the road? What’s your thoughts and opinions? You all rock thank you in advance!

This could be the hose that comes off the power steering reservoir to pump. That hose tends to dry rot and causes leaks. If you would like to google the picture of the hose the part number is 44348-50010

When PS fluid kills an alternator the ACV is generally not the culprit. The ACV leaks internally allowing fluid to escape into the intake via the hose attached to it. The tell tale sign of this is a puff of white smoke at startup. Based on the pics you've provided it fairly obvious the pump itself is leaking, or as badrhino mentioned possibly the reservoir hose, maybe both.

thank y’all for the response’s y’all prevented me from going in the wrong direction, my next question would be what’s the best way to determine the leak? Still fairly new to the game and wanting to learn more thank you again!

i would start with the o-ring at the bottom of the reservoir, clean the pump assembly, and check back a few weeks later. that's the most common leak point and a cheap start, but the pump itself or the lines can also be leaking.
