Default Toyota JDM keyless entry

So I recently acquired a 97 Toyota Celsior and it did not come with a key fob. I hear that the US DM key fob won’t work so I was wondering if anybody on here knows. if I get a key fob from any JDM Toyota model can I program it for my Celsior?

I recall this thread that keys for different countries ran on different frequencies:

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls-...ml#post9543972

We had a UK member who needed a fob for his 1997 a few years ago. The US + Canada compliant key fob did not work with his car

However, I can't confirm if Japan uses the same frequency as the US... I just have no idea.

A JDM key fob from a same year/key-fob generation JDM Toyota product may work.. I just am not sure at this time.

You can find the technical details here below link. It says, "The wireless carrier frequency, is currently 315MHz in the US/Japan and 433.92MHz (ISM band) in Europe. In Japan the modulation is frequency-shift keying (FSK), but in most other parts of the world, amplitude-shift keying, or ASK is used. The carrier is amplitude modulated between two levels: To save power, the lower level is usually near zero, producing complete on-off keying (OOK)."

The important point is that a JDM Celsior uses 315MHz FSK signal not ASK. One idea is to purchase a used one like this using an agent and after that you simply reprogram it.
