Default 96LS400 Positive Battery Connection

Sorry for the silly question, but I am trying to help my son with a car the he got from an individual, and I am not finding the information by searching. The secondary cable that runs from the positive battery to the smaller fuse box, is that connection suppose to be running to the connection below the alternator fuse or the main fuse? Thanks in advance.

The side of the fuse box closest to the engine, will have a big wire running up into and connect to the fusible link. And then the other heavy gauge wire comin out of the bottom will go to your pos+ battery terminal. Seems like this one won’t reach the alternator + terminal, and the connectors will only attach correctly in their proper locations

Hey DWoods, thanks. The car was missing the smaller cable running from the fuse box that is generally there. I wasn't sure if that smaller gauge cable was supposed to hook from the positive terminal on the battery and attach with a bolt below the alternator fuse or the main fuse.

Hope this drawing with a red arrow will help you to identify the smaller cable and how it is connected. It runs between the positive terminal to the power bus bar of the fuse box. It's smaller than the cable to the starter but it should be OK to handle 100A.
