My 1997 LS440 was running, I placed it in the garage. a week later i tried to start it. No clicking, battery is good, light did not fluctuate when i tried to start it. checked fuses OK. Did not try the alternator.

Did you try starting in neutral or moving the shift lever while in park and turning to start?

i second the shifter which leads to the neutral safety switch. the shifter if not in P or N will not engage the starter. also you could have a bad starter as well but usually there are signs of that prior to a complete failure.
