i finally got my car to crank, I had the ecu connections swapped around somehow, im an idiot, no idea how i didn't notice. the car is cranking but it sounds like the starter isn't catching maybe? it just sounds like its grinding, i tried it again earlier after getting my battery recharged and heard the engine turning over but i didn't hold it to crank because I thought it was gonna just grind. I attempted again after I noticed it was actually turning over but then it was just grinding and i didn't hear the engine turning. I'm gonna attempt again tomo after disconnecting the battery and see if it grinds or not. hopefully it's not the starter lol

Is the battery capable of holding a charge and is it fully charged? You cannot diagnose electrical issues with a marginal/bad battery.

i replaced my starter relay and had the car attached to cables and it no longer grinds, it just cranks. gonna do a compression test this weekend and hoping for the best!
