After looking at costs and considering the weather we get here in NW Illinois I have pretty well decided to go with the Michelin X-Ice tires on dedicated wheels. Anyone have experience with these? Tire Rack is recommending them fairly highly based on some e-mails I exchanged with folks there the last couple of days.

Good choice.. But if you look at the tred.. They look almost the same as the Nokian's.. So it looks like Michi is starting to smarten up and copy REAL winter tires.. I would still choose Nokian Haka's over Micheline anyday.. They are the only winter tire to actuly offer a tredlife warranty.. No other winter tire does.. Reason? Soft rubber used in winter tires which makes them stick better at lower temps..
