Sunroof stuck partially open
Yesterday I went to open my sunroof because is was such a nice night but it didn't budge at all, it wouldn't open, shut, or tilt. Then today I tried it and it started working. I opened it about 1/3 of the way and then stopped because I was scared it would go fully open and then I wouldn't be able to close it. Sure enough, it's back to not budging at all but now I'm stuck with it partially open.
I searched the forums and tried then things that were suggested. I first went out and tried using my key in the driver's door lock to open/shut the windows/sunroof. The windows will go up/down automatically with the key but the sunroof doesn't move. I then squirted the sunroof channels with WD-40, no luck. I then went to the trunk, pulled the 30A fuse for the sunroof, waited a couple minutes, put the fuse back in and still nothing. I also tried a new 30A fuse even though the original looked just fine, still no luck.
Any other suggestions on how I can get it closed first and foremost but then any idea on what else I can look at to ultimately fix it?

Maybe you can access a mechanism that operates the sunroof from the panel where the switches are, and close it manually. There is a YT video about a stuck sunroof in an LS400 that might be applicable - not sure. search for it and you will find it.

Thanks for the heads up. I found the video. However, I then went an looked at some used motors on eBay for a LS430 and the motor doesn't look like it has the same screw or way to manually shut it. I'm probably going to end up dropping it off at my independent shop to have him look at it. I just have to keep putting a plastic bag over the area because we are having storms in the area. My guess is it's going to be the motor.

Have you tried pushing forward on the front plastic lip/edge as you also press and hold the forward switch? I know sometimes mine gets stuck about 4 inches from closing but if I push it forward while holding the switch down it will go ahead and complete the close cycle.
