Question Smart key issue

Hello! Suddenly the car LS 2005 stopped responding to the smart key, won't lock, doesn't open the trunk from the button. . At the same time, the key inside the cabin works(the car sees the key) and the car starts. When pressing the key buttons, the light on the key flashes. I changed the battery, the button smart is active. What can it be?

Do you have another SmartKey? If so, test with that. If not, then you really need to get one ASAP as if you lose the one key you have you are in deep kaka.
If the other SmartKey has the same problems then it's probably the receiver for the system that has failed.
If the other SmartKey works, then it's the transmitter in the key that has died.

Without a working key, you can't, unless you have a working knowledge of UHF (315Mhz) data communication systems.
I know I don't and I have a Radio Amateur license and worked in electronics for 20+ years.

You will need to go to a Lexus dealer and they will probably insist that you get new key to start with.
If that doesn't fix it, then they will be wanting to swap out electronics boxes at great cost.

The situation resolved itself, just didn't lock the car in the morning, by the evening everything worked.

Thank you, BigBoomer for you answers and time

You are welcome. I still strongly recommend you get another Master SmartKey coded to your car. It's easy enough to do if you already have a Master Smartkey.
From the factory the LS430 came with 2 Master Smartkeys and one Valet Smartkey.

Do not mess around with this. Do what BigBoomer says. Otherwise, like he says, it'll get real expensive.

This goes for anyone else reading this. Two keys minimum.

The cost of a new key from the dealer makes it impossible. The Toyota dealer (the honest one) quoted me $600+ to which I replied......
"never mind". so I have only one key.

Does the valet key look any different than the master key? My Ls came with 2 keys that look exactly the same but I put one away and only use the other…

I only have one key, looks like the attached photo. What is the algorithm of my actions? Do I need to order a second one? I have experience in ordering parts by original codes myself. I also have TechStream program and a wire obd2 Mongoose

Getting an extra is not that expensive. New one from Belle Lexus on e-bay, about $110. Refurbished or generic aftermarket (perfectly fine) can be had for less. My Lexus dealer charges about $75 to program, a local Toyota dealer does it for $50. You can do it yourself with Techstream. Also, they do it cheaper if you are having other service done. A good local locksmith (getting harder and harder to find) will cut the blade for around $25. You can also transfer a blade from an old key.

All in all, about $220 for a new one with dealer programing. Less if you work at it. Strongly agree with those that say you should get at least one spare and keep it in a safe place.

These are the 3 SmartKey types.
Type A is the early model.
Type B is the Valet key.
Type C is the Master key.

The Valet key does not have the trunk button and the slide out key in it will not give access to the Trunk nor to a locked glovebox.
From the factory they were supplied with 2 Master keys and one Valet key.

Thank you for reply, Sir!
I only have one key, type C(Master Key). I need to order the original key, type B, right? Well, first of all.

You need another Type C.
If you lose your only Master Smartkey the cost to get the car working again is astronomical.

Can you indicate on the diagram exactly which variant would be type C?
