Question of possibly ising a bluetooth amp in the trunk.
Let me start by saying I am not an audiophile but I do like to have tunes while driving the car. I dont want to droop an insane amount of money in the stereo and I would rather not spend hours setting one up.
With that being said, could I install a bluetooth amp in the trunk much like this
Tap into the speaker wires off of the ML amp and have reasonable sound using just my phone?
I do understand that the speakers are 8ohm and will eventually not like the 4ohm load. But theoretically, would this work?
Let me know your thoughts unless they are about what a cheap and lazy bastard I am. lol

I would but I am having an issue with the ML system I cant track down. One day it sounds incredible, the next day the speakers sound blown at low volume. Next day random speakers sound blown at any volume. Then back to all of them sounding awesome. Very frustrating.

If your Amp and OEM head unit works normally, just buy and fit a BlueMusic unit.
I fitted one to my 2004 (ML + Nav) and it plays music from any Bluetooth source and the previous/next track steering wheel controls also work.
If you have a 2004-2006 then you will need the 6+6 Y-cable and the BlueMusic module. Total cost to me was about $60 delivered.

If however, your Amp is dead or dying then it's gonna get expensive.
Also, 4 ohm amp into 8ohm speakers is just going to limit your power. It won't damage anything.
The other way around can blow speakers and power amplifiers.
