Question Should I get a new gas cap?

I've been thinking of getting new cap because mine looks like this:

No other reason other than how it looks LOL and I just noticed the seal has some cracks on it.. Would I cause any emissions issues by replacing it?

Might as well it’s only $20 to $25 bucks.
Every O ring is a wear item.

If the seal is starting to crack, it's only a matter of time until it throws a CEL for a "Small evaporative system leak"

Might as well throw a new one on there if you are thinking about it. I usually wipe the metal mating surface with a rag and some brake cleaner or rubbing alcohol to make it a nice clean surface for the new gas cap too

Good tip. I got a new gas cap when I bought my car but the entire area is extra dirty

Lexus wants more for the gasket than the entire cap which comes with a gasket. Nice.

Are you referring to the little plastic abomination tether that attaches to the car?

If so, you just gotta pop the old one out, and then the new one pops right into the little hole for it.
