Reverse gear seems to be sticking when the car is coming to a stop
it seems like synchromesh or solenoid sticking? in the morning i have to thoroughly warm up the car, put in reverse, it backs out ok, put it into D , drive about 60 yards to a speed bump, and the car comes to a slow stop. like the rev gear is dragging or engaged, then i have to put it in N, then back into reverse, while putting on the ft brake , i give the motor a couple short revs in reverse. then it seems to free up the trans, and i put it back into drive and i drives fine..
182k , i have changed the fluid with toyota iv 3 times, right now it is 1/4" high when checked cold and level. i was going to buy a new filter, or can i clean it out? and repl the fluid but it seems like a solenoid is sticking, if so which one? and can i repl the solenoid myself, also in the winter it takes 3 or 4 sec to engage into drive. it seems like the filter is clogged and not enough fluid is moving thru the trans. or i have multiple solenoid's sticking?

If you have not replaced the transmission filter do that first. Sounds as though oil flow may be blocked.
Get the transmission gasket, filter and four quarts of Type IV fluid if it is a 2001-2003. They did not use a gasket at the factory, but one is available. Use it.
May be time to see a transmission shop unless you get codes. Solenoid could be acting up. Not hard to replace if you know which one.
