Default Screen replacement

Is there a way to replace just the oem screen with a newer one with apple car play and keep the buttons/oem look?

Not to my knowledge. It’s probably possible with in depth electrical knowledge and heavy modification but there’s definitely nothing available that’s plug and play.

What I've seem on this website is Grom Vline: VLine CarPlay Android Auto Infotainment System Navigation Upgrade Lexus LS 430 2004 (gromaudio.com). Uses actual current screen. Main thing is it appears to work well and be reasonably installable, from what I saw in earlier posts. I have no aversion to upgrading button with some other products, IF I know that 100% of functionality is maintained.... but the grom seems more proven. But you keep original physical screen, and it is not cheap: is around $700 + install, and I think it fits in glove box. I am no expert, just sharing what I recall.

Good call. I was more focused on the screen itself, didn’t even think about Grom.

Take a look at the options available on aliexpress but you do loose the oem buttons and look. It does give you a larger screen fully functional as an android tablet with better hardware specs at much lower price. To me it updated and antiquated system and looks like an oem fit and the install was very easy and I now have a rear camera also.
