Default Wheel envy

This past week, I've been in and out of the 430 fixing or adjusting various things.

While fixing the sticking trunk latch, I pulled the spare cover out of the car for the first time. The wheel in there is in immaculate condition. It looks amazing. The 4 mounted on the car look horrible. Corroded and flaking paint. Wishing I could find three more perfect matching spares now.

Although they look good enough, I might actually pull them off, media blast them and repaint them. Won't ever be as good as original, but would look far better than they do now.

Get someone to blast, smooth, and powdercoat them. Over here it costs about 80 UK Pounds per wheel and they look as good as new.

Was thinking about media blasting them and painting them myself. Either it will work or it won’t lol.

we need see to have one place that did powder coating, but they closed down a few years ago.

I'll bet there is a business nearby you that specializes in wheel refinishing. There is a place here in Colorado Springs that does really good wheel work. They refinished the wheels on my dad's 09 Mustang so they look new, and refinished the chrome wheels on my Wife's 2015 Cherokee from silver to black.

Do a little searching and look up reviews. You should be able to get all four done for a good $400 or so.

weldthedif, I wonder if you know what van be done with original chrome wheels. Not to keep the chrome, but if they can be pretreated for powdercoating to work...
