Front door speaker adapter

Front door speaker adapter
I bought some of the metra speaker adapters and they don't line up with the holes of the stock speaker adapter for the door. I then bought a set of another adapters and they don't line up either.
Do you think it would be possible to use the og door adapters and pour some epoxy into the gaps and then drilling holes so I can fit my aftermarket speakers in them?

My metra adapters didn't fit either, I think I could have made them work but I didn't think I would be happy with the end result. So I took the oem speaker assy and cut the speaker out of it. I then took a dremel tool and cut a notch into the oem bracket that the new after market speaker would drop into. I then epoxied the speaker in and fashioned 3 screws with those flat spring steel nuts that held the speaker in. This worked perfect for me, speaker depth remained factory from the door skin to the speaker.
I probably didn't explain this very well, but since you are in there looking at it you can visualize what i did. Good luck

I racked my brain trying to get adapters to fit, wasn’t happening. I modified the factory ones and they work great. Pretty much what you’re talking about, just filled in the small gaps.
