My 2006 LS needs front end work too. I was thinking about ordering Moog parts from Rock Auto. Perhaps less heretical and less worthy of a garrote or auto da fe from the purists. But dang, even ordering from a “discounted” Lexus dealer, the front end parts are expensive. If not Moog, who makes the best aftermarket suspension parts? For background, I did replace my struts and strut mounts with OEM parts. But I’ve still got front end issues and the next step (I think) is to replace the ball joints and tie rod ends. As far as I can tell my upper and lower control arms are ok.
Any and all suggestions are welcome.
I wouldn't, I stopped using them a few years back due to massive quality issues when they outsourced.
Update: the springs have settled a bit. The rears are approaching normal ride height (as least compared to what it was before), while the front are still sitting a bit higher.
Ride quality is okay. Not Lexusesque, but okay. It has softened a bit since I installed them, and I honestly haven’t driven very many miles since then. We shall see.
I have a new set of sway links coming (not A1), and after I install those I’ll have the alignment done. That should tighten up the handling a bit.
In the process of doing this, I noticed the bushings for my rear suspension . . . control arms(?) are shot. It’s the equivalent to thrust arms in BMW land. I would not have noticed but for the physical inspection. I guess I’ll order some Lexus arms to install when I re-convert the rear suspension to OEM.
The front control arm bushings look pretty good, as do the ball joints. Pretty remarkable quality from Lexus here, because those parts are not young.
