Coming out of a restaurant and there it was...the back driver's side corner of the bumper scraped & slightly crunched in. Thankfully none of the body was harmed.
The sensor for the ParkAssist had popped out as well...
All of you LS owner's would not believe how much the parts are on these cars! That little sensor cost's $375 by itself....The chrome strip going around the bumper is around $300. The 2 estimates are going for around $1,500...but thats why we have insurance. To protect us from the fools who intentionally or unintentionally hit us.
Not to sound like I'm whining, but isn't a chore to find the right parking spot in these cars?

That sucks!
Sorry to hear about that.
I would want to kill the person that did that, which is more than they deserve.
I definately agree though it is almost ompossible to find a decent and safe parking spot. I usually drive around untill I find myself a spot far away from everyone.
Keep my baby safe.
Best of luck getting your car fixed.

That Sucks! Hope you get it repaired soon and at a reasonable price.
But I wouldn't sweat it. Because, if that were an E55 you would easily be spending a good $3K. Now that would really suck! I own one and I love it! But I'm thinking of switching to an M5
Good Luck!

Do you own all of these cars in your sig ? That easily adds up to $250K in car valuation, isn't it ? Not to be too nosy or anything, but what do you do ?

I share in your experience, very irritiating how thoughtless some drivers are. Thankfully they didn't break a tail light or damge the metal in the process. What we need is armouring like the Bat mobile.
Hope the repairs go smoothly.

I own all three except the LX470. I have one on order and it should be in soon, but the LS430 is mighty tempting. The Sienna is actually a van we use for Trips. The wife drives the S500 and I drive the E55. I am an Internist and I own my own practice. I know that I spend a lot of $$$, but what can I do I'm a huge car Fanatic. I know $250K is a lot but the folks over there at the Benz Forums easily spend a good $300-500K in cars. Mostly the folks with the S600's. Oh, and you're not nosy.
Hope This Helps!

I share your pain as I am just "getting over" a deer running into my 2003 LS430 with 3800 miles on it. I traded for an '04, but it cost me in the process and it is not an experience I would wish on anyone. Anyway, I hope you get repaired soon.
By the way, most of the internists in Pittsburgh could probably afford ONE Lexus and not be car poor. Things must be better where you are!

I failed to mention that my wife is an Obstetrician. With both of our salaries we are able to afford those cars. Things are actually a lot better where I am(Anaheim,CA). Are you an internist? One Lexus is good, but I know a few folks here who earn a little less than me and have the $$$ for a Jaguar and an LS.
Thanks!
Thanks!

As far as how much your parts cost, most of us know parts cost alot. 1990 LS parts are expensive too.

Hi Javed:
Thanks for the reply. Like you I am in So Cal (San Diego). My wife and I combined gross a tad over $200K but we cannot afford all of these cars you have. My very good friend is an Internist and SHE owns her own business too. Annually she does ca. $800K and can EASILY afford anything she wants (she owns three cars - an '01 RX300, an '03 Land Cruiser and an '01 Odyssey). Me, I am a poor Computer Scientist although I have a PhD, still I am nowhere close to making what you guys and gals with MD degrees pull in annually. I know I should have listened to my brother and gone into Med School
Maybe we should have a topic on what we all do for a living to afford or lust after these fine luxury sedans, eh ?
