Availability of Pre-Collision System?
Question 1: I would like to get a 2004 LS 430 ASAP; however, I have been waiting for the
availability of the Pre-Collision system option. The two dealers in my area have
both been very vague about when I will be able to order one with the PCS, and
when it could be delivered. They mentioned something about some legal
wrangling? In any event, does anyone know more about this and whether we
are talking weeks, months or perhaps never??
Question 2: Does it matter at all where I actually purchase my new LS 430 with respect
to getting it serviced at my nearest dealer? (in other words, if I didn't buy it there will I
be treated like an outcast or will I get the same service as if I had purchased it there?)
Thanks and happy to be aboard and can't wait to get the LS 430 and replace
my 740 iL.

With lexus all the dealers should treat you the same wether you bought the car from them or not. The dealer I go to has never given me a problem. Best of luck with your new car and enjoy.

I happen to speak to Lexus of America today on this subject. My customer rep said the PCS is available now and if your dealer does not have one it can now be ordered. I have not yet checked on availability in from the Wash. DC area dealers.

Mike and Puffmaster...Thank you for your replies. I have inquiries in right now to find out if my local dealers have details on what they have coming with the PCS. One of them told me 30-45 days till they are here.

I have also asked my local dealer about PCS delivery. He will get back to me on that; however, he also said it looks like Lexus is dramatically cutting back on production of the Ultra Luxury packages making that option a special order with months delay involved. Why? lack of demand.
