In fact...
I can confirm it was movie magic. Folks, the car that actually was exploded was actually MY '92 LS400. My car dealer boss bought it from actress Raquel Welch. I bought it from him for $6K and drove it for about a year. I received a call from someone looking to buy an older LS, so I told them I would consider selling. They came to check it out, without telling me their intentions. I thought it was weird, and I said, "ten grand." They went for it. Then they told me they were going to take out the engine and seats and blow the car to kingdom come! I said, "But that was Raquel Welch's car!" They didn't care.
