Default LS430 and Q45?

My mom is currently looking for a used 01 or 02 luxury sedan that she can drive to work very comfortably in and also my dad could use to pick up his clients with. Our price range is about 35k give or take 3 grand. What do guys with the LS430 think about the q45 compared to ur LS430? What are some advantages to the LS? Thanks in advanced.

I think Q is better looking but the trunk is much smaller.

I suspect that the Q will cost much less as they cost less to begin with and depreciate faster. That being said, that might be the better value. The only problem is that you'll be driving an Infiniti instead of a Lexus

Are the Q45's of those years the Y-33?
I like the way those look.
If I were to pick, I'd opt for the Lexus.

If you want a luxury sedan with the most comfortable interior, the LS is a favorable choice. Hands down, I could reasonably say that the LS beats out the Q in all categories except for price. The Q45 is kinda rare to see on the roads, especially around where I live. I believe the '02 model includes the new body redesign and those "special" Xenon headlights, like the one below:

The Q is absent from the roads and even the M isn't seen that often. The only Q's I've seen in Cerritos are at the showroom, I did see a black M in downtown Mountain View (Palo Alto area) that was lowered with 19's. Except for the G35's, Infinity sedans are scarace.

A VIP Q would be a nice project and pretty exclusive. I'd like to see those headlights at night.

It does seem that Infiniti's Q and M series cars are not as abundant than those of its competitors.

I had a neighbor with a brand new (when it came out) M45 and it looked fugly as hell stock. It's been a few months now and the M is missing in action and in it's place my neighbor now drives a Saab Aero!

The Lexus is the more refined car.. Quieter interior - and a softer ride.. If those things are important, the Lexus has the Q45 beat...

you can't beat Infinity when you buy used.. Because the resale value on their cars straight out suck.. So if you were to get a used one.. why not go with the Q.. Heated and cooled seats.. 340 hp. Nice look.. You can probably get one around 35k now or less.. And for a VIP Q.. i've seen a few upgraded ones.. here

THe Q45 does not even get include in car magazine comparos against the LS, S, 7, etc.
The Q45 placed 4th behind the GS, A6 and 540 in Car and Driver.

In driving it, the car offers no reason to buy over the competition. There is nothing wrong with it but nothing great about it either. For 60k loaded, buyers WANT and desire panache and a nameplate that means more than a can of pork and beans. Part of why the A8 is a slow seller and the VW Phaeton is doomed to fail. I left unimpressed and it was a nice car but I could not buy it over similar priced or cheaper Lexus or the competition.

It is an incredible used car, losing near 1/2 it's value in a year or 2. Styling is not my cup of tea but it is a well built car.
