If this was the first car with a nav system I would agree. And I agree it is the database. However on the Lexus website the claim to use Navtech for the database. My BMW uses Navtech as well and is correct 95% of the tiome by a few hundred feet. The lexus system is wrong 100% of the time no matter where I go buy a minimum of 1/2 mile. Even a broken old fasion clock is right twice a day. The lexus system can't do that. I think they owe us all a free update DVD with correct data.

I also agree. I have an '04 with nav. There is definitely something wrong with the address and POI mapping. In my case things are correct about 80% of the time. The nav will direct me close enough to my destination that it will at least be in my line of sight, even though it may be a couple of hundred yards away. The other 20% of the time, it leads me to a point miles away from my intended destination ... very frustrating. And embarrassing when I have to go to the nearest gas station (POI not on nav), get out of my $65,000 technological marvel and ask some barely-English speaking kid how to get to where I want to go.
I think this problem is unique to the '04s. I had a '98 GS400 with nav and never had any problems. My son has an '01 IS300 with nav and his is right on all the time. So whatever "improvements" were made to the '04 LS nav may have increased the number of waypoints, but certainly decreased the accuracy and even the usefulness of the system. If you only have confidence that it will get you to your destination 80% of the time, you feel you need to have backup info and IMHO, that compromises the whole point of having a nav system.
