Ok so tip 1) at least stick with Audi only dealers. Would you guys then recommend an independent Audi specialist, Oh but I will be leasing, would I have to stick with dealers under a lease? Or would I just want to take it to a dealer for service particularly since its a new A8? I'm not sure how Audi works with their leases if their conditional or if ther're all pretty much the same.

sounds like headaches already... Drop the idea. Whenever you lust for that car just go to a dealer and testdrive it.

I like the A8L inside & out, the most beautiful large sedan on the road right now IMHO, but I won't consider buying/leasing one even if I were in the market for a large sedan given their poor reliability reputation. I won't mind renting one for a weekend getaway though.
This will be the last A8 sedan without that hideous new Audi grille, so it's a good time to get one if you really want it. Good luck !

Don't do it (swap for an Audi A8). This is all about BOREDOM. It's about building a nice wall (Lexus), then knocking it down to see if you can build an even nicer wall. Totaly silly. Every review ever done points out the poor quality and resale value of Audi. And the same studies point out the great quality, reliability and resale value of Lexus. I DID what you said...went from an LS400 to Mercedes. It took me years (of taking those Mercedes for dealer repairs) to finally realize that I HAD the best car to begin with.
Buy some tickets to a great concert or sporting event to combat your boredom. Continue enjoying your "best car ever made" LS430. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Evidently, some people like abuse....Audi?...good luck....Hope you like your dealership as you'll be very familiar with their service/parts department for all the wrong reasons....
Do some research on the A8 before you toss your money away....

Hey now lets think positive. Yes Our Lexus are awesome cars and yes Audi has had some quality issues, but this poor girl is Bored. She is a great Lexus customer and deserves to try out something new. We all know that in the long run she will buy another LS430 or LS500 one day.
So I say for now lets support the idea hole hearted and just ask she keeps us updated on the quality of the Audi. Also she has two other Lexus cars so in reality how many miles will she put on the Audi during the lease period. Maybe she will have Zero problems who knows.
Milla Go for it just keep us informed.

I look at it differently. It's this simple: Just because someone HAS money doesn't mean they should **** it away unwisely. Going from an LS to an A8 is just plain stupid and boredom driven.

I think the real issue is that Mila had her mind made up long before posting. Even with the very well written posts that followed, offering great advice, she remains committed to buying an Audi, to cure boredom. Well, one thing is for sure, Audis aren't boring. Frustrating yes, boring no.
Philisophically speaking though, anyone who lives in North America, and has an income well north of middle class, has no right or reason to be bored. So her goal is far bigger than a simple change of automobiles will accomplish, and it speaks to a far more fundamental issue, and I wish her luck in achieving it.

NOW you're zeroing in on some real issues. Much of America is bored. And feel deprived. This is the result of television etc. The bottom line is that people have to make peace (but don't) with themselves that if they have food on the table, a shirt on their back and a roof over their head, they're doing pretty good. It's American to aspire to do BETTER, but only in the last BABYBOOMER generation has the system gone haywire where people go deep into debt to live beyond their means or, maybe not quite as bad, they don't go into debt but they don't save. Our culture is to spend spend spend. OK, I'm guilty too but my LS is my only real indulgence. That A8 is only going to satiate her for a while...

I like all cars and if I have enough money I have enough cars so that when one is in the shop I have other to drive...
I just want to know if she sell me her LS at dealer trade in price since she fed up with the LS and have other Lexus to drive beside her new Audi

And Milla does not strike me as a person who keeps cars for 6+ years at a time.

At least a good portion of people who buy/lease $70k cars are very busy people, who would rather spend their time doing something much more productive than to hassle over their unreliable cars, bringing them to & fro to the service departments of their dealers. Besides, when one spend that kind of dough on a car, one would rather be actually driving the car that they bought/lease 99 % of the time rather than driving whatever loaner the dealer give you when fixing them.
