Bluetooth Question
I have a 2004 LS430 that I just set up with my new Sony Ericsson T616 phone. When a call is in progress in handsfree mode, is there any way to "transfer" the call to the handset (i.e. talk on the cell phone instead of the speaker)? I know you can answer an incoming call on the handset when you are in Bluetooth mode, but I haven't been able to figure out how to get back to the handset once you are talking in handsfree mode. Thanks in advance for any help.

I did find one kludge that works but is a hassle. If you are talking on the speaker and then plug in your headphone and then unplug your headphone, the call will now be on the handset instead of the speaker. I'm hoping there is something more elegant!

I have a Sony Z600. It is the clamshell design - but feature wise very similar to a T616.
When I am on a call on the Bluetooth speakerphone - I can press the menu key (equivalent to the joystick) and a menu comes up - with one line that says "transfer" - pressing transfer gives me the option of transfer to phone or transpher to handsfree. It works very well.
I do not know if the T616 (I had this one before) has the same "transfer" function - but otherwise they menu structure is basically identical to that of the Z600.
This option is only available and visible during a bluetooth call.

I do have AT&T in Los Angeles. The Z600 is a good phone. It is slightly larger and bulkier than the V600.
The phone has the 900Mhz but not the 850 Mhz frequency (Plus 1800 and 1900). AT&T still uses the 850 frequency in some areas - in those areas the reception is not good. Most of the time, though, reception is equal to that of my previous Sony.
Motorola supports their products better. You can get them fixed easier and they answer the phone. Sony is arrogant and almost impossible to reach. I tried buying a part for the casing to remove a scratched piece of plastic and Sony would not help (and no repair centers)
Also, the Z600 is not officially supported by AT&T. So GPRS, and other settings have to manually entered. I got someone at AT&T support to help. But I do not use the Mmode.
I am now looking at the P900 (with organizer) or the forthcoming HP model with WiFi. I would likely get a TREO if it had Bluetooth.

I now have the Motorola RAZR V3. Works well with Blue tooth, but I have not figured a way to transfer a call from the handsfree to the phone or viceversa. This is the only thing the SONY interface did better - the reception on the RAZR and bluetooth connection is stroner.
Anyone?

[QUOTE=Maurice]I now have the Motorola RAZR V3.
Maurice--did you load your entire phonebook from the Razr to the LS at one time? Or does it have to be done one number at a time? Do all the functions of the Lexus Bluetooth system work with the Razr (ringthru the car, answer automatic, etc)?

First, I found an answer to my question. When in a call you can press the center top menu button and there is an option for transfering the call to the handset.
I have not been able to make the phone ring through the car - but neither did the Sony Z600.
I have not had to transfer the pronebook - because it is still loaded in the car from the Sony (the phonebook remains even after the phone is deleted) - but it appears from the menu it is one at a time. I also never used the auto answer - I see the option on the phone but do not yet know if it works (I don't want an autoanswer anyway).
All that said - I think the RAZR is so far the best Cell phone I have owned - mostly because of the quality of the reception. The bluetook sysnc very fast. If I turn the car off, the call goes to the handset.
