Default Tranny/Fuel Pump Recall: Should I Wait?

I am at 8700 miles on my '04 LS430. It will take about 4-6 weeks to get to 10,000. Think it would hurt to wait to do the recall work until then, when I can change the oil at the same time?

Usually, the dealership will call you instead. I also read somewhere on this forum( I think) about a recall they had on 2001 and up civcs headlight harness( or something like that) and told my 2 friends about the recall. They thought nothing of it, but within a month later, one of my friend recieved a call from the honda dealer about the recall and he took his car in. 1 week after that, my other friend got a call from honda also about the recall. If they don't call you, then you should give them a call instead.

Something to keep in mind: I had to wait a little over 2 weeks for the dealer to order the parts

Daryll-
It took my dealer about 2 weeks to receive the parts once I tried setting up an appointment. I would check with the dealer about waiting, then if they give you the ok, have them order the parts and take it in when you hit 10,000 miles...

I would wait it out if I could, rather than take the car in twice in such a short time...

That's exactly what I did. I scheduled the work for about a month from now when I will hit around 10K

Daryll-
Thought you'd like to know I just picked up my car from the dealer after having the transmission & fuel pump replaced and it drives even smother than before...I'm curious to see how this will effect fuel mileage.

The dealer even detailed my car inside & out...

Glad you are satisified with the recall work. Like I said, I am going to wait a few weeks. Frankly the car feels fine now. Maybe I'll notice some great improvement like you are saying and be even more happy. I don't like the fact that they HAVE to do a recall, but I am not really bothered by it either.
