Extended warranty - what did U pay and from whom?
Getting ready to close a deal from a private owner on a 2001 LS430, 45K miles, less than 4 yrs old next week. I intend on buying the Platinum Lexus warranty. I was quoted $2675 from Lexus of Austin, TX, no negociation, that is the price. Is their better out there to be had? If so, from who?
Please do no attempt to talk me out of it, I've heard the arguments, but was very glad to have it when the AC compressor went out on my 98 GS300. Because I did not have the extra cash laying around at the time, and I most certainly would not have invested the cost of the warranty to have available when needed. I am purchasing peace of mind, which aids in my quality sleep time.

I purchased "Platinum" warranties for both my 03 LS 430 Ultra and SC 430. I purchased the cars new along with the warranties for each car. The cost of each warranty was $1800.00. The dealer was Reinhardt Lexus in Montgomery, Alabama.
Hope this helps.

I've had very good luck with WARRANTYDIRECT.COM. I've had three contracts on various Ford Explorers and one on my Mercedes S320. They cover most stuff and paid the shop (dealer or independent) directly over the phone by credit card. I haven't purchased one on my '04 LS430 because I doubt I'll keep it beyond the warranty and certainly not beyond the extended built-in drivetrain warranty.

I paid $1,705 one year ago on my new LS 430 at Woodfield Lexus in Schaumburg, IL for the 7yr/100,000 zero deductible.
I think there is still room to get it for less, maybe $1,500-$1,600. That is where I bought my car, so I didn't want to look around anymore.

Paid $2k for the platinum on a 2002 with 45k. Not a bad deal for bumper to bumper. I've dealt with some outside warranty companies and I DO NOT recommend them. They refused a $1000 repair on our ford windstar because the repair that ford did was specified in a tsb.
