I found out today from folks on the alt.autos.toyota and alt.autos.lexus newsgroups that there is a Toyota NAV update being readied for 2004-2005 vehicles. I called Lexus personally and the lady there said that the notices will go out between now (Nov 16th) and the end of the month. So, after almost a year, what we have been saying is being confirmed and fixed...that the addresses on the NAV are out of sync beyond a reasonable amount. And it looks like a fix is on the way.

I don't think they are going to replace the DVD UNIT, but merely update the software.

I had my car in for it's 1,000 mile checkup service and the advisor told me they are ordering me a new Nav DVD per a new recall. On the receipt is says "Ordered DVD NAV DATA Ver. 4.2"
They also installed my SilverStar 9006 fog light bulbs - much better match with the headlights in terms of color.
