Default Thoughts on this '05 lease deal...

I'm about to pull the trigger on an LS430 and here's the best deal I've been offered -- wondering what fellow posters think:

2005 LS430 with Modern Luxury Package and Smart Access
36 months/36 thousand TOTAL miles
$1850 total due at signing (includes first payment)
$740 plus tax per month

Good? Bad? Ugly?

(Jon, Mike, if you're trolling around I'll see you Friday!!).

If you amortize that $1850 over 36 months, it comes to about $800/month plus tax which is about right I would think. Heck, I can remember leases in 1989 (1990 model) for $600/month on the LS and that was when the car was $35,000-$40,000.

I do assume you meant 36,000 miles TOTAL. Which, for me at least, wouldn't be enough.

Thanks! I edited my original post to change the mileage error and to show that the first payment is included with the intial "at-signing" sum.

The VW Phaeton is $699 a month if you want something more unusual

I cnsidered the phaeton for a bit but there are too many question marks surrounding that car. It sure looks roomy and sleek though!

Today I test drove the 05 LS and WHOA.. what...a.....CAR! Too bad they didn't have my color preference.. gotta wait a few weeks.

They won't budge on the price though, not even a dime.. they actually ENCOURAGED me to wait rather than give me a better deal on a color I did not like.

Interesting.
