Ya...Benz QC is just in the can. I had a customer who had a brand new CLS55 AMG come in to the shop, he picked out his wheels and we went to pull in his car.....WOULDN'T START! Check everything and the car was DEAD!

I just had my entire car done with Llumar, including the windshild. It is none metallic and it works fine. The guy has been doing this for 20 years and did not recommend metallic tints.

 

I'm interested in tinting the windshield with see-thru tint. Where did you get yours done and how much?

 

I'll post a pic, name and location in a bit. I had it done in Irvine, CA. The guy comes out toyour location. I paid 300, plus a 60 tip. They do a great Job.

 

That sounds great. I'm gonna tint my car next Monday in Costa Mesa area. Perhaps I could pay them a visit afterward. Looking forward to more info.

 

The place is called Sun Screen Specialties. They can come to your location. The guy that came out is Gil. He also did my 2004 530 about 2 years ago. That one was metallic film.

I got the Dark and I believe the windshield is light.

Llumar has light, medium, dark and limo.

get huper optik tint. it is non-metalic, made of ceramic and will have to effect. it resists heat much better also. The price is more expensive but it is worth it. check thier website and call the regional sales/distribution for a location near you.

 

The lowest light transmission is 34% for huper optik. Despite the fact that they are great on blocking solar energy, I would prefer to have 20% look. Nevertheless, this is good stuffs for people who want lighter tint.

 

The front will run you for about 100 + 20 drive up fee + tip. Gil can probably waive the drive up fee if you tell him that I referred you. I got it done on Von Karman at the carwash in the structure. The carwash owner is Gilbert.

Just to re-cap, what type of tint was used, darkness (%), part no. if possible.

I want to tint me LS430 this weekend. Problem is that my local installers want $180 for the job. I cannot find any cheap shops to do the work. Oh well
