$15000 for a power gain of 80hp? I wouldn't do it. specially on LS430. This car is not made for racing! 15000 I can buy a 240sx and drop in sr20det and big turbo, pushing 400+ RWHP and still get changes left!!

well if it's really 15000, it's still a lot cheaper than the e55 and a lot cheaper than s500 or s55, but a lot faster (though still lose, hehe)

The kits you mentioned are different style superchargers.
It's like compairing apples with patatos, LOL.

I love how misinformation can spread on forums

With $15000, I can custom build a BIG single turbo kit onto my LS430 and upgrade the tranny. We have a member here in So Cal with a black SC430 custom build turbocharged by XS enginnering (I think.)

If I remember correctly, the turbo is about $10,000, the wheels with tires are $7,000, suspension is $2 or 3K......Well add on to the cost of the car $70000, He spent about $90,000 and that's before the tranny upgrade.

If its Larry your talking about, he was in Sport Compact Car a while ago. I'm not sure if that is paul2x but i think it is.

he was sportin 20" DUBS, so i think your mistaken on your figure of $7000. Unless dubs and tires go for 7 g's which I wouldn't know. they were 11" wide the in the rear

He also had full toms suspension and braces, stage 1 turbo (ONLY 7spi!!) as of the read date by XS engineering custom exhaust etc. brembo BBK, and a full blitz body kit with carbon fiber lip, rear skirt and grill. Oh yeah and a big hole in his front bumper to fit that massive FMIC!! recorded 400hp on the dyno.

It was in the novemeber 2004 issue.

ummm then i guess with the tranny upgrade, it's going to be push it to close to 15k? now i wonder how that compares to the wald supercharger setup in terms of power and other issues?

well 7k could be the msrp. tires alone would be around 1500 already i think, leaving about 5500 for the wheels. if anyone gets a set of hre 20s in those sizes, then it's 5500 easy even with deals (msrp about 7k for just rims). and 11 is nothing man, you can do 11 without any fender mod on the sc430 the crazy white sc430 in the east coast that has 12" rims in the back, but that's with flares of course

the car "only" has 7psi coz' that's actually pushing it already. if you look at the rmm sc kit, it's pushing only 5lb "stock", coz' of the slippage. someone boost it up to 8lb and the belt is slipping all day long. so you will end up with a lot of problems here and there. tons of info on the gs forum about this (too bad that i lost track, haha)

if you wanna get higher boost on the lexus v8, you are looking into "solving" a lot of problems
