Lexus cars may be vulnerable to viruses that infect them via mobile phones. Landcruiser 100 models LX470 and LS430 have been discovered with infected operating systems that transfer within a range of 15 feet.

Actually, they think the that the navigation and blue tooth adapter on the lexus uses the Symbian OS. Symbian is used in the the Nokia Engage and the Sony Ericson Phone/PDA phones.

Funny you should mention that. In 1996, the Federal Goverment regulated the use of off the shelf hardware and software for the use in medical equipment. It only required that medical corporations be certifed on the software/hardware they were using. (Either through sun, microsft, or other). But, almost every medical company does not like to pay money for new technology when the old one already works. You get medical companies using windows 98 instead of windows xp, Solaris 8 instead of Solaris 10, and never patching any of said software to address known security risks. There have been cases of brand new medical machine, fresh form the box, infecting hospital networks as soon as a technition plugs in the machine. It has got to a point were network administrators have made isolated rings in hospital, making it more difficult for these machines to infect one another.
From what I seen, MRI's run off of SGI machines, cat scans and treatment planing tend to run off solaris. But, those lasik machines are all windows, even the laser is controled by a windows program.
