The trunk on my 2002 LS 430 has gotten really heavy and from reading previous threads this appears to be a common problem. It wasn't that way new, so I assume its the shocks losing pressure. I've searched the site looking for an aftermarket replacement, and found no help for the LS 430. Apparently there are replacements for the SC. I also saw reference to a service bulletin, however no one had any experience with it. Anyone solve this problem???

This seems to be a problem being asked quite a bit lately. As to date I don't believe anyone has found a remedy on it in regards to finding adequate after market shocks here on CL.

This is the NHTSA recall that you stated in regards to an 01LS430 trunk, just case you want to see how it's worded.
