Default New 2005 LS430 Setup

Picked up my silver/black LS430 today from the dealer. Very happy with it but a bit overwhelmed (and excited) with all the stuff to learn about it.

Is there an archived post or something of the like on how to get the best 'Set Up' for a new LS?

How about adding your two cents on how to set it up or just highlight/reveal particularly nice features.

Congrats. I have a 2002 so I can't give tips on your new car. I love mine and think the newer ones are nice, but I only see two things that I miss. The new navigation interface is cooler as well as the Bluetooth. Enjoy your new car, ain't it great!!! When the beef the engine up to 350 HP or so, I am getting a new one. Mine only has 21K miles so not in a real hurry yet.

Thanks Joe. Though this car is not yet a day old, I already know I will replace it when the 36 month lease is up with the 500hp AWD hybrid LS.

Congrats on your new LS. You might have done these already, but I'd set up...

1) Memory features for the driver's seat
2) Radio stations for FM1, FM2, and AM
3) Bluetooth connectivity if you have it, including 1-touch dial numbers
4) Activate SmartAccess if not already done so
5) Activate the Auto wipers, Auto lights if not already done so
6) Input key Memory Points in NAVI, and select Home + 5 Memory Points to be Quick Access Points
7) Program HomeLink system with garage door, etc.
8) Use Menu>Information>Maintenance to input Maintenance reminders and memos
9) Use Menu>Information>Calendar to input any important memos for particular dates
10) If you'd like, make sure to configure the Lexus Personalized Settings to your liking, including SmartAccess, interior/exterior light settings, etc.

I know this is an old post but wouldn't it be nice to find information on HOW to ? especially configure the Lexus Personalized Settings which are very unspecific... and non-existant on this old mans forum. Do you really have to go to a dealer to adjust things like headlight delay...etc? I will continue searching for the obvious...

Go to Mylexus.com, establish an account for your car with VIN, and then request an owners manual for your car. You can do this online and they will mail you the manual. Or, you can view the manual online. With this car, a hard copy of the manual is a must item. Enjoy.
