Congrats and welcome aboard. Take your time, there is plenty of gizmo's on the LS. I continue to get a grin on my face with every drive.

Good luck and enjoy! My dealer told me not to exceede 65mph for the first 500 miles.

There has been more written about breaking in vehicles than I can read. After 500 miles drive it like you stole it is my recommendation.

Break-in rules should be in the owner's manual.

and there is actually not much break in rules they say that you don't really need to do anything in particular, maybe vary the rpm and dont' over rev the car for the first 1000 miles if you wish

Did any of you folks 'glaze' your brakes during the break in period?

They did mention to avoid hard braking the first couple hundreds km's, at least in my SC430 manual

Wink

Thanks for the posts folks... This car is AMAZING! I have been on an extended business trip so the pics are on thier way.

I had a 2000 BMW 740i Sport model prior to my LS 430 and I cannot get over how quiet the Lexus is. i was pretty much set on buying a new BMW 750 when it came out ( I drove them all , S500, A8l, BMW 745li, Caddy STS)...but after one test drive...well.. the LS is now in my driveway!! My poor Vette is getting lonely!!

BTW - Is the only way I can add XM to the car is thru the dealer? I want XM to go thru the stock radio without any add ons.
