Default might sell LS430..dealer will trade 4 20,000. still have 28,000 on loan..options?

I might need to sell my LS430. I am planning to go back to school to take up either pharm or dent. I know the car's bluebook value is around 35-37,000...but it's real hard to sell cars at that range. people with that kind of money would rather buy a new IS or 3 series than a used LS430.
I was thinking about giving it to the dealership but they will only give 20k for it because they need to make profit. I have an outstanding balance on my loan of 28k. I dont know what to do. any advice guys?

Would you please tell us what year is your car? specs, etc please.

Or at least fill out your profile.

Sounds like you are in a good position to sell it yourself? BB is 35-37, but all you need is 28k? Just list it in autotrader for 30, with wiggle room to negotiate down. You should end up in good shape.

Also- try carmax, if you have one. They sometimes offer a little more for trades, even without buying a car.

Hei Grand...

sorry about that. I've been posting the specs of my LS in the GS forum... i've had a GS and been on these boards since 1999...I just assumed everyone knew. sorry.. hehe... I have a 2001 LS430. I think it is pretty basic: 17" rims, leather, power everything, rain sensing...extended warranty...it's dark green. 40,000 miles on the odo.

Does it have parking sensors? Car and Driver with or without the parking sensors gave the LS $39,985 Now if the Dealer is giving you $20,000 you're missing out on a chunk of cash. Trade in is $29,575.

hmm..prob cuz the demand for the car isnt that great in this small island.... thinking of shipping it out when I move... but thats going to cost a pretty penny... about 1800.00.... but still... If I sell it here, I'll be missing out on 15,000.00. 20,000 compared to 35,000? hmmm...

What about finding another dealer? I'm sure they would give you something for it.

Smile 40,000 miles on it!

I'll keep it short, DON'T SELL YOUR CAR OR TRADE IT, KEEP IT. (GOD IS GOOD ALL THE TIME)
