Rom, those are 20's. The guy has his own Japanese website about his car.

22' is too big? LS is large sedan! So why I see Maybach with 22'???
Just gotta be careful when you chose the style!(no spinners! )

you see the 745 with 22s no problem and looks cool. but you don't see the s class with 22s.

Why would you feel the need to ruin the outside of the car like that though?
I'd rather sink that money into real performance upgrades be they suspension or motor work.
In truth the outside of the posted car just looks garish to me. A great deal of money was invested in it and personally I feel it looks much worse. And 22s are absurd.
I guess I'm not a fan of the "VIP" (read: expensive rice) look either.
Function over form .

well, that car is an "extreme VIP" car... don't rule the look out

heres what is becoming more and more common in VIPcar Clubs now

as you see, it can still be done quite tastefully.

they are all on really nice air canister set ups. They dont drive like that... I would love to have air like that slam it when its parked to get that dramatic look, then raise it for driving.

i dont' think he was even trying to talk about the ride height, of course we know you can driev the car that low.

he's probably saying it looks aweful when the car is slammed to the gnd, just that low that's all. and count me in, i don't know how to appreciate that look too

To each his own.
The only thing that I'll be doing to the visuals of my car is lowering it a bit (1-1 1/2"). Not because I'm desiring the look but because truthfully it's a hog around corners. After that it will be purely motor and possibly drivetrain (and the eventual brakes). For the cost of the rims and/or bodykit on most of those cars I can be running a full forced induction setup. Personally I'd choose the performance aspect.

good call, you really have a perfomance car rather than a VIP sedan anyways
[/sarchasm]

on a serious note- to each his own, if we all modified our cars the same this place would be about as cool as a handjob on your honeymoon.

I have no preconceptions of it being a "performance" car. It was and is a luxury car first and foremost. I love the luxury that is supplied with the car but I also love a powerful vehicle. It seems like I'll eventually bolt a blower onto the motor and make up for the cars inherent lack of grunt in the lower RPMs. I have no preconceptions of beating all takers on the street/strip but I'd like to hang with mildly modified Z28s, WS6s, C5s, and late model GTs in the 1/4. We'll see how it goes.

I'm also keeping this car a total sleeper (what I prefer, as opposed to "VIP"). Toyota really planned out the aerodynamics on the car and it flows very well. A bodykit would just mess this up as well as make it uglier IMO.

BTW, thank you for pointing out the sarcasm inherent in your first statement. I wouldn't have caught it otherwise .

And I'm not here to argue about things like this, I'm just here to learn about my car and hopefully find others who share my passion for performance.

actually, just lowering the car might not help cornering that much. if you have coilovers as a system probably. and to help handling, even in stock form, get sways, if they are avaiable
