Opinion needed: 05 LS430 vs 06 LS430 vs 07 LS460
Guys,
I need some opinion:
I am thinking to buy a brand new 05 LS430, given that I get $6.5K off MSRP. However, 06 model is coming soon with only $300 increase in base price. I am not sure if I will get the same discount for 06 model. Is it correct that LS460 will arrive this coming Spring?
Any opinions? Is it worth waiting for 06 LS430 or LS460?
thanks

They don't have to offer anything new to increase the price. The new GS just had a price increase too & it's the same car as when it's launched a few months ago, they routinely increase the price every year usually.

anyway, the 06 ls430, when it first come out, for sure you will not get the same discount

just read on newcartestdrive. com that the 06 Lexus loss 12 horses resulting in 278hp and instead of 325 torque, its now 312. they said that it doesnt affect the performance of anyway. but something about SAE regulations. Thats the same with the next SC430 i think as well, power decreased to 275hp. but back on topic, the three models u suggested, i would pick the newest one because its new. dont know anything about the 07 model but if u want to wait that long, u should wait for the 07 model and be the first one in town to buy and seen in one, but if u cannot wait, i would choose the 06 model, but if the loss of horses affects u any, an 05 model is the same as a 06, just different power ratings and some other stuff like the saddle interior trim cannot come with the black onyx exterior color or the flint mica exterior color. but either model would be fine for me because its a lexus and i would be proud to own a 01 LS.

It is none of my business, but it does seem by your posts that you are very concerned about how much you are paying for whatever LS you get.
If you want discounts, you shouldn't even consider the 07. They will sell for sticker for a few years. Trust me on this.
If you wait for the 06, you will wait until spring/summer of 06 to get any where near the deal you have now. By then, the 07 will be right around the corner.

Very, very few cars sell at sticker for a few YEARS, unless it's a Ferrari.
The 2007 LS460 will probably sell at MSRP for a few months, then start slowly creeping down in price from there.
It will take years for people to see $6000 discounts however, like they're seeing now with the current LS.

I digress, you are correct. A few years was a bit much.
It will be late in the cycle to see 6k off, I agree.
Although- in a big market like dallas, you will never pay less than sticker for a 911, and that is not much more car than an LS430. That car has been selling that way since 99.
People order them, take possession, and them put them up for sale for a profit.

i agree it's a lot of time regional too. at least i can say that here in cali, a new lexus, you get msrp for couple of months, but usually after 6 months or so, you start to see some reasonable discounts or so, and by the end of the yr you should see the "normal" market price.
so that means for the 07, you see a better price some time early in the 08, a long time from now!

I wanted to ensure that I don't buy the 05 and within a month or so the 06 is coming out with similar pricing (of course I realize that the discount won't be as much); or if even the 07 is coming out in less than 6 months. Just want to make informed and careful decision.
anyway, thanks all for the opinions.
