yes they defiitely reduce road/outside noises as is also the case with S class benzs. As was stated earlier the lamination makes the glass more durable and safer in the event of a crash but is not bullet proof like the some of the BMW 7 series. So like my man said earlier don't pop **** to a carjacker thinkg it's sweet behind that glass. Nothing is more precious than our lives.

My question to the current LS owners as I'd like to get one some time early next year. Do they come with power folding mirrors?

i am wondering if they put some sort of plastic between the two glass for the laminated glass, that would be hella protective. and 500 bucks for a piece? damn that's hella expensive!

and RAristo, just get the ultra luxury now hehehe... seriously, get the custom, at least

and lexlaw, yes the ls430 has power folding mirrors. i believe it's on all ls430 models, hopefully i am right this time, since i only pay most attention to the UL version

According to:

http://www.lexus.com/models/ls/price_options.html

Modern Luxe comes with rear-seat heaters.

And laminated side glass is offered, I believe, as a stand-alone option also on Modern Luxe, also power folding side mirrors.

Just like in the other thread, some features not listed in the luxury packages are also available in the less expensive packages. For instance, Modern Luxe has SmartAccess.

So my understanding is custom luxury costs $1000 more than modern luxury. If that is the case, then heck yeah, I'm getting the custom luxury. (also assuming there will be no tint problem for the windows. yeah. I'm picky )

thanks for the info, lexlaw.

Question

Were power folding mirrors availlable for '01s. I don't recall seeing it on the Lexus site. I'll most likely be sliding into one of those preferably Ultra Luxury.

are you sure invoice is around $56k? msrp is $57k so $56k for invoice doesn't sound right.

Laminated windows for sounds reduction are NOT any part of the Modern lux package. Only the custom and ultra package. Smart key comes on ALL packages in 05 and up. Yeah- you see it on the sticker as a paid option- but you WILL NOT find an 05 without it.

"Standard option", if you will.

All the LS430's have heated rear seats, its just that the UL have heated/cooled rear seats plus message etc.

I stand corrected on the laminated side glass issue...I guess it was part of the salesman's pitch, trying to get us to buy a higher options package

As for MSRP, I guess if it says $57,000 then that's it, invoice varies...

I better let the more qualified LS 430 experts here put down the statistics, as I've been proven not so reliable on this thus far. It's been a year since my LS 430 purchasing experience so some of the details are lost on me since then. But once you get your LS, and if you have any questions on its day-to-day operation, then we can talk.
