Default hello my fellow lexus owners. i will be purchasing a ls 430 soon, have some question

s

i recently purchased a 06 gs300 and boy, am i happy about the purchase. the car is running great and my experience thus far with lexus is overall .

i want to make my purchase from sean (the guy who sold me the gs300), but before i make the trip, i want to have a number for him to juggle around.

now, for the questions...

-when is the next gen LS due out? 2007 or 2008?
-what kind of a deal should i expect for a 05 and 06? are they willing to sell at invoice? i checked edmunds.com to see how much invoice was, but they didn't have the price listed.
-what is laminated side glass?
-is it possible to get a ls430 without the heated rear seats?
-how much did you pay for your LS430? list option and year please.

thanks for the help guys. i appreciate it.

1) the new LS will be out late next yr as 2007 model
2) invoice is doable when they have overstock, so it depends on their inventory i say.
3) would like to know more about laminated glass too
4) i thought the heated rear seats come with the UL package right? if you get the UL you get that for sure
5) i pay nothing for the ls430 yet coz' i don't have the car

btw, where in cali are you in?

Laminated side glass, is that the rain-repellent side glass? I think it has a special coating so that rain drops slide off more quickly...or maybe something to do with the layers of glass for insulation.

Also, the heated rear seats are available with the Modern Luxury Package as well...

And how much $$$ depends on which options package...

Laminated Glass is a double thick glass, two pieces together. The lexus dealers call it bullet-proof to some extent. It is very strong, I have a 04 LS 430 w/ it, and someone shot my side glass w/ a billet gun and the glass did not shatter but left lines across and only penetrate the first glass. I think it is standard on the custom and ultra models only.

Do you have any problem tinting the laminated windows? I'm interested in custom luxury but the dealer told me, if I were to tint the windows, don't get the laminated windows.

Hey Steve,

I'm also interested in purchasing a 06 LS430. Perhaps we could do a groupbuy at the dealer. lol.

My windows are tinted. There are no problems w/ tinting the laminated glasses.

Laminated side glass is not bullet proof - from what I've seen on the net, it is to help prevent noise. Don't go around giving carjackers the finger thinking you're safe behind the laminated side glass.

yeah definitely they are not bullet proof, if so it would be highly advertised imho. i think it's just ticker for better insulation and such for noise

Yeah, I don't think they are actually full bullet-proff, but when i called the dealer to replace my side window, i told him laminated, and he said "ooh the bullet-proof one", however my car was shot at w/ a billet gun, , and the left side rear window cost about $500 just for the glass alone to replace not including installation. It is a very thick glass and hard to break, two pieces insulated together.

Do laminated windows help to reduce noticeable noise? Trying to decide whether to get a custom luxury or modern luxury.
