Default Pics of my car at Nopi

Drove up to Nopi Nationals this weekend, here are a couple pics with a new stereo setup that I though I would share.

Ya, Sequence S2's. I'm about ready to get rid of them though, they're starting to get way too popular, expecially at shows.

Hey Screwface!

Love the Kenwood setup. That is the same idea I had in mind. Looks way better than the stock navi setup.

Awsome!!

I use to be huge into car stereo when I was younger. Thats the first custom stereo I have seen in a luxury car that I like. You made the dash look as clos to stock as can be. Would you mind giving us a detialed breakdown of every component the car has for Audio? I would also like the cost for parts and labor. You can PM the cost details if you dont wish for it to be public info.

Awsome...Oh so how does it sound? What db does it hit. In my day 130db was great. My '86 Honda CRX Si hit 132db and was just awsome. I did listen to more Jazz and such but every once in a while I would play some hip hop or rap. I did compeat it once and got 2nd place..very proud of that one trophy.

I haven't measured it as yet, it does get pretty crazy though. The 13W7 is a definate shocker.. I new it was gonna be loud, but I really didn't think it would play as clean as it does. The new JL Audio ZR's also sound amazing.

Here is a copy of the current mod list:

Rims: Sequence "S2".... 20"x8.5" Front and "20x9.5" Rear.

Tires: Continental "ContiSportContact 2"... "245/35/ZR20" Front and "275/30/ZR20" Rear.

Suspension: Tein Flex Coilovers
Tein EDFC(Electronic Damping Force Controller)

Stereo: Kenwood DDX-8017 Head Unit
Kenwood KNA-DV4100 Navigation
Kenwood KTC-V500N TV-Tuner
Kenwood KCA-iP500 iPod interface

JL Audio 450/4 Amplifier
JL Audio 1000/1 Amplifier
JL Audio 13W7 Subwoofer
JL Audio ZR/VR Components

Custom Fiberglass Dash Kit
Custom Fiberglass Enclosure, Amp Racks and Trim.

Most of the work was done by Arylic Concepts in Hollywood Flordia. http://www.acrylicconcepts1.com/pastwork.htm

As far as pricing, most of the parts I purchased were from shops that friends own, so I really can't get into that, but I did get the "hook up". Labor at Acrylic Concepts however was about 3G's.

A lot of the pro basketball players here in town do that stuff to their luxury cars. Odd seeing a Lexus or Mercedes modifed like an '85 Chevy. I hope you enjoy and don't bother too many folks with the noise.

Well, thanks for the well wishes.... <<< right back at ya.
I'd rather do that than be the stereotypical snobbish Lexus owner that enjoys rolling eyes at people and things they don't approve of.

Joe,

A lot of guys on this forum 'do that stuff' to their luxury cars and I don't think we have a large population of pro basketball players on ClubLexus. I've 'done it' to my GS (not to my LS) for car shows and the like... just like is being discussed here. I take care not to bother folks with the noise myself in case you care to imply I make a lot of noise in your town too...

I think you should expect the best out of people and thats what I hope all our members will do. Be friendly, courteous and helpful to other Lexus enthusiasts here on ClubLexus. If you don't like something, be constructive and polite if you care to say something. Just like you should have learned at basketball camp .

As I said, I hope you enjoy it and respect the rights of others to sit at intersections without your stereo blowing them out of their cars.

Right Joe, and you also said:

Not sure what to make of that statement... it does strike me as an offhand racial stereotype comment.

Sounds like an insult to me. Perhaps you hold the 85 Chevy in some high regard for a reason that escapes the rest of us.

OK so we're starting to finally get the idea you have a problem with thumping bass with your second post... nuff said.

Joe, if you have any other comments or questions about forum etiquette PM me and let's not continue to take this thread off track. All I'm asking is for you to please be polite to other members or do not post at all.

Your second post show that you took no accountability for your earlier rudeness or apology for it. We're trying hard to keep that type of behaviour from creeping into our forum.

I know my sarcasm in this post is a bit over the top and I apologize for it. I tried to be polite in my first warning and apparently did not get the message across. I just want you and other members to know that your earlier reply is not acceptible here. Please respect our other members and treat them as you would want to be treated yourself.

Here's a "shot in the dark"... my camera sucks at night.

I think I definately need more lighting though.
