Tail lamp failure

Quick question. I have had the tail lamp failure light come on three times in the last year. Anyone else have this experience? Lexus fixes it without much ado at the usual service intervals,

Are you sure that all the bulbs in the back work? Because I know I had a bulb go out on my 98 and I could hardly tell, but I got it replaced because it was annoying to see "Tail lamp failure" on the odometer everytime at startup.
