Lightbulb Which LS 430 features will be carried over to the LS 460/460L/500h?

Lexus made a fantastic vehicle, the closest thing to the perfect car, in the original LS 400...it's struck me how many wonderful features continue to be carried over from generation to generation...the steering wheel 4-spoked design, the pleated leather on the doors, elements of the overhead console design...

Of course, the LS 430 set a new standard for 'electronic gizmos' and luxury interior accoutrements...

What do you think the Next Generation LS will have carried over from the LS 430? Also, what new items might they have? (Lexus Night View? Lexus Rear Seat Entertainment System?) Will some items previously optional become standard (certainly SmartAccess)...?

My wish list: the 4G LS should retain...

1. Oscillating vents
2. Backseat vanity mirrors
3. Cool box option
4. 4-spoke steering wheel (classic)
5. Backseat massagers (even more modes would be great)
6. Touchscreen NAVI (but of course)
7. The hidden storage compartments
8. Power trunk closer (an opener too would be nice)
9. Seat cushion that lengthens (driver & passenger)
10. Perforated leather (certainly!)
11. Power door closers (excellent)
12. Fold-out style door storage
13. Extra passenger seat controls for driver
14. Cassette tape player (still...)
15. Similar headrests

more modes in massage is definitely nice
rear independent entertainment systems

not night view but what they have on the new m5, you see all your speedo info on the windshield
more seats control (lateral support)
front dvd movie (this is a given)

Whats wrong with the current modes in the massage system? You guys do realize that you can keep pressing it, and getting more and more modes, till it sounds/feels like a human heart beat? (that part is fun) Not sure if they all do this, but I tried this in my friends '05 Ultra.

Yeah, and I'd love a 'shiatsu' feature...by the way, has anyone been on a first or business class airline seat with massage function? I wonder how those stack up next to the LS. I know ANA and JAL have them...

Also, one new feature I'd like is something to advance Park Assist, particularly for the front bumper...when in tight parking spots, I'd like to know where the 'parking bar' of concrete at the front of the parking spot is relative to the car...the sonar doesn't detect it currently, as it's too low...which leaves you to have your tires run into it if not too careful.

The new cruise control would be nice, the one that allows you to set your speed, and have it brake and apply throttle, even in stop and go traffic.

Why none of them? There are certainly many great features in the current LS that are already practically perfect and can be carried over to the new LS IMO.

One of the "basic" luxury features that I see in more need of an enhancement is a TRUE four-zone climate control, where each passenger enjoys his/her entirely independent set of air conditioner, heater and fans. Right now the dual-zone climate control forces the front passengers to share the same fan settings in both power and positions, which can be quite annoying when the passenger wants only slight heat to the feet while the driver desires lots of cool air at the face. The same can be said for the rear passengers.

^^^
4-zone climate control, I like it!!!

Wonder if Lexus will do anything to spruce up the extra space in the long-wheelbase version.
