Default 01 Navigation Question

Will a Navigation Disk Version 4.1 be compatible with a 2001 LS430? Some say no, some say yes. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

So, we can run a disk that's updated for 2005 as long as the part# ends in 3x?

well i know 3x part numbers should be ok for 01-03 nav. 04 and 05 (and 06) are all gen 4 nav, and the part numbers should be 4x. i don't know if they have 3x part numbers but dated 05 though. never updated my nav before

Have you made a decision on ehat Nav to run? I have a 2002 and the Version 4.1 did not work in my vehicle.

We should just get a group of us who have the 01, 02 and 03, split the cost of one upgrade disk and send it to the next guy after we are done doing the upgrade.

Default EBay not a good source for Nav updates...

Every year about this time a new version is published to update the Navigation disc. Once you put the update into your DVD drive and it initializes the previous disc will not work anymore. There may be a way to copy the update if you have the right DVD copying technology but don't expect any warranty if you are using a burned copy. Do not buy the previous disc from someone else's Nav system as it might not be compatible.
