What kind of wood?

It's either (Golden) Bird's Eye Maple or (Antique) California Walnut. On the dark colored leather interiors on '05 editions, the Walnut trim fades dark towards the edges to blend in with the interior paneling. The Bird's Eye Maple is also truly breathtaking, with every piece in the car carved from the same tree for harmonious looks.

I believe so...what I should mean to say is that the 'bird eyes' in Bird's Eye Maple matches across different pieces very nicely. Probably a similar effect in other Lexus woods too, perhaps in granulation or striations.

Even though it doesn't take much wood to do a Lexus in they must have had enough lumber to produce thousands and thousands of interior wood components.

Oh and just as a FYI, the steering wheel on the LS is hand built, and the process takes about 3 weeks.
