Can't make outgoing calls
I just picked up my 06 LS430 lux yesterday and having a lot of fun trying to figure out all these fundtions/buttons on the car.
I was able to connect my Samsung SCH-a970 via car's bluetooth. I have no problem receiving calls but can't make outgoing calls. Display indicates that it is out of range. (also I've read about the phone book transfer issues so I won't go there) Can anyone help with this problem?
I also have a couple of other questions,
1. Will 04-05 model body kits/accessories such as suspension kit fit 2006 model?
2. DVD & placement recommendation (I have a 3 yr old boy, apparently he likes mom's minivan with overhead DVD better than my new Lexus)
3. Tint or no tint
Appreciate your time,
Jason

hey jason, congrats on the new car.
Does your screen says "bluetooth connected" when you start the car?
Also, does your phone indicate that the phone is paired up with the car?
If those two checks out, mm.... maybe try another phone with bluetooth capability. Maybe it is your phone's problem. (im using Motorola V710, and dont have any problems connecting)
For 04/05 model bodykits, yes, I believe it is the same with the 06 models. So, you can use them...you just cannot use tstuff from 01, 02, 03.
DVD placement , I've seen two monitors placed on each of the front headrests, and I would say that is the best placement. If you put it in the center, it would block your rear-view mirror.
Tint and no Tint ... well, you got a black on black...tinting the windows will complete the mafia/vip look!
Enjoy the car!

Thanks for your input. As far as I can see, my phone is connected. I have no problem receiving incoming calls I just can't dial out...Oh, are you getting caller ID on your system?
Thanks again,
Thanks again,

I use a Blackberry 7100T so your options may be different but one thing I needed to do on the phone was to go to the "settings" and then choose the "Bluetooth" option. Under the bluetooth options there is a setting called "trusted device" or similar. Had to make sure the Lexus hands Free was in that trusted list. I do have to initiate the call from the phone still. My transferred phone book is from my previous Sony T637.
My co-worker has a 2005 Acura TL and that Bluetooth implementation is more intuitive and quicker responding. It doesn't sound like they made a lot of progress on the '06 LS430's either. Good luck - it still beats those darn earbuds!

yes, i get caller ID, but only the caller's number show up, even though I have them stored under names in my phone's address book.
And the caller ID is usually 'delayed'...only after 3-4 rings then it starts to show up. Sometimes, it only shows up after I connected the call.
