Asked the Lexus Svc Mgr about this. He explained the backup battery is dead causing the error msg every time I start the car. Battery is $799.00 and is needed in case of car wreck and the main battery power is disconnected... I cannot find anyone who has had this problem I need a solution..

That system no longer is in operation. There was a "service campaign" sometime ago to remove the system altogether.

Thanks. Yes I understand Lexus wants to remove analog system by 2008. However, I want to use it until then after spending $73,000 for this car! Has anyone else had this Lexus Link "bad backup battery problem". If so, how do you test to make sure it is bad verus maybe it is just a bad connection? I don't want to get into the "blindly replacing parts syndrom". Can you buy the battery any cheaper then the $799.00 Lexus price? Can I replace it myself? Where is it located? Thank you, Earl

you will need to pull down the trunk ceiling on the right hand side. You will find the delco battery. Try a battery specialty store? Check other Lexus dealers on the forum? It's not a difficult replacement. The second gen Lexus Link has just arrived in digital format. I'm trying to justify in my mind spending $799 for one more year of Lexus Link plus the annual fee of $350. Cell phones are cheap and reliable. The Lexus Link uses the analog cell phone spectrum and it doesn't get a signal in all areas and they were problematic to activate. I've sworn at a lot of them. The idea is excellent but the execution is imperfect. Mayday! Mayday!

This message get real old. Every time I start the car it sounds off and Guests reallly think Lexus is DUMB and not a good Company not to resolve this error message. I want to use the Link system untils the Analog system is totally defunct. Any solutions?
