Can I feel the sub in the trunk?
I'm thinking about adding a 12" Sub in the trunk as the MarkL is way to weak on the bass for my taste. I just don't know if I will feel the bass thru the trunk or not at the car its pretty sound prooved. Anyone has a sub installed in their trunk? Please give your opinions, thanks.

You most certainly will feel the bass. I have a JL 13 in my trunk, and even with all the trimmings and amp racks, I still have to keep the subwoofer output level on my headunit on a very low setting.

I'm kinda in the same situation... I do want more BASS out of the ML System, and after carefully inspecting the rear deack of the car, If I wanted a MUCH LOUDER sub WITHOUT the rear deck rattling like crazy..It will need to be a semi-custom job.
Buy a more powerful sub (Suited for IB Use) either in 8" or 10" (Max) diameter, then you will need a SEPARATE AMP to power this sub with hopefully a BASS CONTROL module wired and routed to the front of the car so you can turn the bass up/down to your liking.
Get some sound deadening material and Insulite (??? some sort of foam to go in between the plastic and the metal to reduce vibrations and rattles),.
So Basically -
Remove rear deck panels, sound deaden, replace sub, run new wires for amp and bass control unit,.
Good luck-

I second that note!!!! I have two 12's in the trunk with it being ported through the rear deck. So much sound deadening that no bass comes through. I have no idea. Open up the trunk and it hits like hell!!!! Adding another sub will definitely be an upgrade. Maybe try a free-air sub???

I have a single Infinity 12" in a sealed box in my trunk.
For me it puts out plenty of bass to keep me happy. Now, you cannot hear it that much outside the car, but it for me anyway.
I did have to add some rattle proofing to my 3rd brake light/old sub holder. Rattle quite a bit.
Just depends if you want everyone else to hear your boom boom or just you..
