Default '06 LS430 Purchase Prices

I'm new to the forum - don't own a Lexus yet - but hope to change that soon. A few years back I cross-shopped the GS400 and Audi A6 4.2 and went with the A6. Spectacular car, except for the amount of time it spent in the service department, the time it overheated (visions of how much it would cost to replace that Audi 4.2 V8), etc.

I'm now seriously considering buying an '06 LS 430 (Washington DC Metro area). The $64,000 question is how much it will decline in value when the LS 460 arrives. More importantly, given this likely decline, what is the kind of price I should be able to negotiate from the dealer? I would keep the LS for at least 4 years. I'd appreciate your expertise and any recent experiences.

i can tell you that lexus is pretty smart in controlling the supply of their cars to make sure there is no flood of new cars in the lot when the new model is out. the ls460 is coming this fall, my guess is the ls430 production is alrady stopped last month.

i have studied the last few new models / facelifts, once in a blue moon you will find one that has been on the lot for 4 months and they sell for invoice, but that's not very common. and so far i have only seen it ONCE that i was offered a ls430 UL for just a bit under invoice

That sounds right. Lexus appears to be managing inventory pretty well. Looks like LS sales are down 50% compared to last year, but there aren't that many on the lots (at least in the DC metro area). Looks like I'll just have to test my negotiating skills again.

Thanks.

i think the lowest it will go for is 500 under invoice,,, which is probably what you can get it for now,,, seen a few lexus models go for 1000 under,,, but very very very rare,,,

depending on your area you can probably try invoice to begin with and probably below invoice, since you DO have the benefit of the new ls460 news everywhere. like b1gredek said, below invoice for cali is pretty much doable now, so give it a try

I'll give it a try and let you know what happens! Looks like most of the dealers of 8 or so on their lots with that many coming in the next month.

Excellent resale value, even with the 460 coming to the market . . . You should be able to find a 430 either below invoice or a few dollars above. After all, their allotment of 460s weighs heavily on how many 430s they have in stock. Don't hesitate to contact a dealer that resides within 100 miles . . . they could always trade for the one you're looking for at a discounted price (provided that the original dealer didn't already quote a low price to begin with).

Looks like demand in the DC area is higher than CA or FL. I could not get invoice, but was able to get a Black / Black Modern Luxury demo (driven by owner of the dealership) with 2000 miles on it for $1500 over invoice.

Only did that well because of the info on this site and by using AutoTrader to find the total number of new LS 430's in inventory in the area (64 within 25 miles).
