I just bought a 2004 Lexus LS430. It is used and I got it for less than $30000 and thus it is paid for.

And Inside.
B-T-W, It is the basic model and the color is Mica. I know that some of the other models have more accessories, but this is a super car

and yeah, that sounds way too cheap isn't it? what's the mileage? i have never seen any 04 going for that low locally, with reasonable mileage

Default MIlage

I think that the milage is the key. It has 65000 miles. However, that milage on a lexus is jut not a concern to me. My other car is a 1992 SC400 with 145000 miles and it runs like it has 35000 miles.
B-T-W, I had a really good, paid for trade. It was a 2001 Acura CL with 38000 miles.

I agree on the mileage part -- if it's been taken care of, and especially if the miles are mostly highway miles, I wouldn't be worried about it at all. So, you paid <$30K and some of that was in the form of the CL trade-in? To REALLY judge how good a deal it was, we'd have to know all the details -- how much they gave you for the CL and how much you paid to boot. Sounds like a great deal though.

Default How it worked

Well, I guess it won't hurt to give you all of the details. I suspect that it was partly the milage and the knowledge that the LS460's were about to be introduced. Along with the fact that this was the oldest LS430 on their lot. And, they called the Acura dealer while I sat there and must have received a good offer for my trade in.
Also, I got the keys to my Acura and tried to leave twice. I always tell the salesman when he takes my offer to the boss, that they have a maximum of 5 minutes to get the answer and get back to me. The last time the sales manager ran out to catch me while I was getting into the Acura and asked for 10 more minutes while he called the Acura dealer.
(My sister worked for a Ford dealer in El Paso for 20 years and she taught me some of the tricks. I usually drive the sales people a little crazy. I do Not wait on them and am ready to leave when I get tired of their little games. This deal took at most 35 - 40 minutes. I told the salesman in the begining that I would be gone within one hour with or with out the Lexus.)

Any way here are the details. They gave me $16000 for my Acura, I put down $7500 & financed $7500, for a total of $31000. That includes TTL.
With that little financed, I will have it paid off by July.
