Default Remove Door mouldings

Does anyone have the experience of removing the door exterior lower mouldings on a LS 430. Mine was damaged in a camping trip so I have to replace them. They cost around $700 for a pair front & back. Thought I can atleast save the labor cost.

welcome to clublexus.

if it's anything like the 2gs, then it's not too hard. if you open the door, from the inside, at the bottom you should see some black head 8mm (i think?) hex bolt. unscrew all of them. then the whole thing is loose. the top is kinda clipped with the chrome stripe, so you will hae to jiggle. and the whole piece is sticking on the metal door with strong double sided tape. so you will have to kinda pull it out or stick something in to separate them first.

again this is for 2gs, for the ls430 i suspect it's similar, but maybe someone with repair manaul can help

btw, why do you have to get the whole pair? you can't get just one?
